The Crime Suppression Division is an organizational unit of the Criminalistic Police Directorate (CPD) at the Ministry's headquarters, which was established in 2006.
The Crime Suppression Division has three Units that deal with the prevention and suppression of forms of economic crime, general crime and domestic violence, which are key areas of the Unit.

Monitoring and analysis of the state and trends of crime in the Republic and directing activities to its prevention and suppression, especially the phenomena that affect the emergence and development of crime.
Directing, harmonizing and controlling the work of criminalistic police work lines in regional police administrations, providing professional assistance and direct involvement in shedding light on the most serious and complex crimes.
Monitoring the organization and methodology of performing tasks within the scope of the Service and taking measures to improve them.
Establishing cooperation with organizational units of the Criminalistic Police Directorate and the Ministry, judicial and other state bodies, as well as other organizations and bodies in order to raise the level of efficiency in the fight against crime.
Analyzing regular and, if necessary, requesting the preparation of extraordinary reports and work plans, submitting data related to the work of the Service and the lines of work of the criminalistic police in regional police administrations.
Gaining insight into the actions and control of the lines of work of the criminalistic police in the regional police administrations in the field of prevention, detection and suppression of crime, on the basis of which it directs and gives instructions for work.
Imposing measures to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the suppression of certain forms of crime and to improve the organization and methodology of the work of the competent lines of work of the criminalistic police in regional police administrations.
Participation in the development of the plan and control of the implementation of the crime prevention program.
