Police Officer
Srdjan Petrovic, a police officer of the Police Department in Pozarevac, was killed on December 19, 2017, on a work assignment. Dobrivoje Zivkovic, 70, shot at him while he was acting on a report of domestic violence in the village of Bare, threatening his family with an automatic rifle. Petrovic suffered injuries from which he died on the spot.
After the murder, members of the SAJ (Special Anti-terrorist Unit) intervened, killing Zivkovic after he opened fire on them with an automatic rifle.
Srdjan Petrovic was considered a favorite among colleagues and citizens of Pozarevac.
Everyone loved to work and hang out with him. A man for example, a family man. He is always ready to help everyone, so everyone could always rely on him - one of Petrovic's friends told "Blic" after the terrible tragedy.
